Tactacam recommends using Energizer Lithium AA batteries for optimal performance, especially in cold weather. Alkaline batteries may be used but offer shorter battery life.
For most cellular models like the Reveal or Defend, turn the device off, then back on to enter setup mode. When the status LED is solid blue, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset.
Ensure you have an active data plan and sufficient signal strength. Check that the SD card is not full (unless loop recording is on) and that the batteries are charged. You can also try formatting the SD card.
Ensure the antenna is screwed in tightly and the rubber seal on the door is clean and free of debris. If moisture occurs, let the camera dry in a circulated air environment or a sealed container with rice for 24 hours.
