Նամակների ձևավորում

  1. Today, we are going to learn how to form the cursive letter ___ . [Aa]
  2. You may notice that many of the letters look similar to the printed versions.
  3. We will begin with the 2 large uppercase letters at the top of the page.
  4. On the left, you will see how this uppercase letter should look.
  5. The dotted letter on the right will show you how to form this letter correctly.
  6. Place the tip of your pencil on the black starting dot and then proceed to follow the smaller color-coded dots. The correct order is as follows: blue, red, green, and purple.
  7. While tracing this line, your pencil should not be lifted off of the paper.
  8. Some letters are more complex and require more than 1 line to form them.
  9. For these complex letters, we use different shapes as our starting dots. (circle, square, and triangle)
  10. If a letter has more than 1 line, your pencil should be lifted off of the paper when moving to the next starting dot.
  11. After tracing the large letter at the top, we will progress to the next 3 rows of practice. Remember to begin at the starting dot when forming your letters.
  12. The bottom half of this page focuses on the lowercase letter ___ and should be completed using the same method described above. [a]

Connecting Letters

  1. For this activity, you will be tracing the letter ___ found within words. [Aa]
  2. If the word begins with the missing letter, the process of tracing it will be exactly the same as the previous page. You will begin at the green starting dot and follow the same steps as before.
  3. If the missing letter is not found at the beginning of the word, tracing the missing letter will be slightly different. These letters do not have starting dots.
Instead, you will begin where the previous letter ends.
  4. The letters a, c, d, g, o, p, q, and s will have red stopping dots. They tell you to stop, backup, and retrace parts of the letter.
  5. Let’s begin with the first word.

Ուսուցման խորհուրդներ

  1. It’s important that students understand the difference between the green starting dots and red stopping dots.
  2. Red stopping dots are used to help guide students, as they retrace various parts of letters to accurately complete cursive connections within words.

Letter Practice

  1. On this page, you will be practicing tracing / writing letters. [Aa – Dd]
  2. Each row is dedicated to a specific uppercase or lowercase letter.
  3. You should always begin each letter at the starting dot.
  4. Since you will only be tracing single letters today (no words), you will not need to worry about stopping dots.
  5. Remember to say the name of each letter as you trace / write it.
  6. Try to do your best writing when completing this activity.

Finding Letters

  1. In this lesson, we are going to find letters within words.
  2. Each row of words will be focusing on a specific letter. [Aa]
  3. Whenever you spot this letter within a word, you will circle it. [M o n d a y]
  4. Please note that some letters may appear multiple times within the same word.
If this happens, you will need to circle each of them.
  5. Եկեք սկսենք.

ABC Review

  1. This activity reviews all uppercase and lowercase cursive letters in the alphabet.
  2. Beginning at the starting dots, you will trace each of these letters carefully.
  3. Since you will only be tracing single letters (no words), you will not need to worry about stopping dots.
  4. If you are unsure how to correctly form a letter, you should go back to that letter’s formation page for review. Try not to guess.

High Connections Between Letters

  1. Connecting cursive letters can be tricky. This page focuses on making high connections – those connections that occur above the baseline.
  2. All high connections on this page will be shown with blue letters.
  3. There are only 4 letters that create high connections: b, o, v, and w.
  4. Each section has 3 steps.
  5. First, you will read the word written on the first line.
  6. Next, you will say and trace that same word on the second line, beginning at the green starting dot.
  7. Uppercase and lowercase letters are treated differently when writing in cursive.
  8. Uppercase cursive letters should be fully completed before moving on to the next letter in a word.
  9. When writing lowercase letters in cursive, you should not lift your pencil off of the paper, until you finish the word you are writing.
  10. Ask yourself: Does this word contain the lowercase letters i, j, t or x?
  11. If yes, these lowercase letters will remain unfinished until after you complete writing the entire word.
Do not dot the letters i and j.
Do not cross the letters t and x.
  12. Once the word is written, now is the time to go back and add dots and crosses to these unfinished letters.
  13. Be sure to keep an eye out for red stopping dots while you trace.
  14. Lastly, you will write this same word again on your own, without the help of tracing lines.
  15. Complete the rest of the page using this same process.

Low Connections Between Letters

  1. Connecting cursive letters can be tricky. This page focuses on making low connections – those connections that occur at the baseline.
  2. Most letters in the alphabet create a low connection (not b, o, v, and w).
  3. All low connections on this page will be shown with purple letters.

  12. Once the word is written, now is the time to go back and add dots and crosses to these unfinished letters.
  13. Be sure to keep an eye out for red stopping dots while you trace.
  14. Lastly, you will write this same word again on your own, without the help of tracing lines.
